Midway State and Thriving Ivory hit Tattoo Rock Parlour last night.  The show was packed and there were plenty of high pitched screams for both bands.  I saw alot of camera phone and video phones up in the crowd, so I would check out youtube to see if it’s been posted.  The energy of the crowd and performances are a must see.

Samantha Laserblade’s Music Fix #1

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

I know this is yesterday’s news, but I’d like to bring everyone’s attention to PILOOSKI, aka Cédric Marszewski. This SENSATIONAL french revivalist digs out old classics, and brings them to life with super sexy edits that bring us back to smokey, candle-lit dancefloors grooving to some CLASSIC soul rhythms.

He has released a lot of his edits on the Parisian label DIRTY SOUND SYSTEM but these gems are hard to find, as he only releases about 1000 of each.

Some tracks worth mentioning are his edits of Nina Simone’s “Take Care of Business” and Franki Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.”

Take a listen to my favorite track of the moment Can’t There Be Love
